Friendly Visiting

If you are an older adult who is unable to get out of the house to visit with friends, we can connect you to a new friend. We match you with volunteers with shared interests.  

Volunteers visit once a week, and a typical visit lasts one hour. You and a volunteer can enjoy activities together such as playing board games, sharing stories, or discussing books, music, or current events. 

Pet Pals

If you are an older adult who is struggling to care for a beloved pet, our Pet Pals Program can help.  The program will match you to a volunteer to ensure that you and your pet can stay together at home.  Our volunteers provide the following services:

• Dog walking
• Changing litter 
• Shopping for pet supplies
• Taking pets to the vet
• Pet grooming
• and other services 

Sunnyside Community Services’ Friendly Visiting Program is supported by Citymeals-on-Wheels, and the Pet Pals Program is supported by Amie’s Place Foundation.
