Community members, senior citizens, and staff from Sunnyside Community Services gathered for a panel presentation in our building in Sunnyside to raise awareness about abuse and neglect of older adults. Speakers included Shyvonne Noboa, Division Director of Older Adult Services at SCS; Kerly Serrano, Director of the Center for Active Older Adults at SCS; Jolene Boden, Director of Case Management at SCS; and Renee Adamson, Director of Social Adult Day at SCS.
The event took place on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, held annually on June 15. World Elder Abuse Awareness Day was launched on June 15, 2006 by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse and the World Health Organization at the United Nations.
