Caregiver Respite Coordinator 

We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate who understands the billing and invoicing process to serve as a Caregiver Respite Coordinator in our Caregiver Support – Alzheimer’s Program. The candidate would be responsible for the operational and administrative aspects of billing, including ensuring referrals are accurately entered into Salesforce, matching home care service invoices against approved referral information, and working closely with the Director to ensure invoices are processed and paid correctly based on authorized services and referral details. Secondary duties may include other reporting duties as assigned by the Director and/ or community outreach. 

SCS is a settlement house located in a diverse and vibrant neighborhood in Queens.  Our Caregiver Support, Alzheimer’s Services program is designed to support caregivers caring for those individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. This position is based out of our Long Island City office. 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Director, Caregiver Support Supervisor, and Caregiver Support Specialists on tracking and uploading referral authorization in CRM.
  • Enter referral information into the CRM system.
  • Monitor and ensure home care invoice information is correct.
  • Prepare check requests and invoices to be paid to various home care and adult day care agencies in a timely manner.
  • Record,review, and revise referrals authorization on the homecare referral spreadsheets.
  • Correspond with internal and external home care agencies to ensure respite cases are accepted.
  • Follow up on missed payments and resolving financial discrepancies.
  • Maintain spreadsheets for accurate invoices, tracking, and payment recording from home care and adult day care.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business, accounting, medical billing or a relevant field. 
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a claims or medical biller or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with databases and data management systems. 
  • Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.

Reports to: Director of Caregiver Services  

Location: Long Island City, Queens – SCS currently has a hybrid work model with three days in office and two days remote.

Salary:$45,000 – $47,000 (Non-Exempt)
