Elder Justice Worker/Outreach (Part-Time)

In partnership with the Program Director, the candidate will assist in developing and implementing an annual outreach plan to promote the Elder Justice program. The program is designed to support older adults who are experiencing abuse and to provide them with support.We are seeking an outgoing individual to serve as a key connection between older adults affected by abuse and the services offered by the program. The candidate will be responsible for community outreach, coordinating and delivering presentations, and educating potential referral sources about available services. This role is crucial to the success of the Elder Justice program, also involving occasional case work related to intake screenings and providing case assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct phone outreach, schedule presentations, and distribute informational materials such as brochures.
  • Execute an annual outreach plan to raise awareness of the Elder Justice program.
  • Deliver presentations to existing stakeholders to inform them about the program and its services.
  • Identify and cultivate new relationships with key partners in Western Queens.
  • Coordinate with other outreach staff on a monthly basis to brainstorm and implement program promotion strategies.
  • Accurate and timely documentation of outreach in trackers.
  • Document intake and case assistance following the NYC Aging Elder Justice standards and all documentation in funder provided database.
  • Other duties as assigned by the program director.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Salary: $28.00 – $30.21/hour
Department: Older Adult Services 
Reports to: Director of Elder Justice
Schedule: Part-Time; 21 hours/week. The candidate must be able to work evenings and weekends as outreach events present themselves.
Location: SCS currently has a hybrid work model that allows for one day remote per week and two days in the office. Prorated for part time staff.
Classification: Non-Exempt
