As an Enrollment Specialist, you will be responsible for providing families with hands-on assistance in navigating the childcare application process through the NYCBenefits Child Care Initiative, including 3-K and Pre-K, Administration for Children’s Services Vouchers, Human Resource Administration’s Child Care Services. You will work directly with parents and caregivers to complete applications, including managing required documents, and ensuring proper submission. You will also provide ongoing support, helping families monitor their application status and troubleshoot any issues that arise. This role is critical for helping families access essential childcare services and ensuring they receive the guidance needed throughout the enrollment process.
Responsibilities
Application Assistance
- Guide families through the childcare application process, helping them understand eligibility, required documents, and timelines.
- Provide one-on-one support in both scheduled appointments and drop-in hours to ensure accurate and timely submission of applications.
- Assist families in creating MySchools and MyCity accounts, helping them access waitlists and view school options.
Follow-Up and Support
- Regularly communicate with families to provide updates on their application status and assist with recertifications.
- Troubleshoot issues families may encounter during the application process and liaise with city agencies as needed.
- Manage follow-up communications with families to ensure they are aware of deadlines, document needs, and program updates.
Collaboration with Internal Programs
- Work closely with the Outreach Specialist and UPK program staff to ensure families are aware of childcare options and application processes.
- Provide families with referrals to other relevant SCS programs, such as ESOL, immigration legal services, after-school and summer camp programs and other programs.
Data Management and Reporting
- Utilize Salesforce to maintain accurate records of all families assisted and their application progress.
- Assist in preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key metrics like applications submitted and enrollments completed.
Qualifications
- Bilingual required; Spanish preferred (other languages spoken in the community are highly valued).
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, plus 2-3 years of experience in case management or enrollment services.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience working with immigrant and low-income families and navigating public benefits systems.
Salary: $50,000-56,000
