Program Director, Elder Justice Program 

We are seeking an experienced social worker to join our Older Adult Services team as Program Director for Elder Justice. This is a unique opportunity to help make a difference in the lives of older adults. The program provides services that prevent abuse from happening and protects people from abusive situations to help them recover. Candidates should be able to balance supervision, achieve growth in referrals to client conversation and someone who can strengthen programmatic impact and community outreach.

The Program Director is supervised by the Associate Executive Director of Older Adult Services and falls within a division that provides a continuum of programs that supports people as they age and their family caregivers.

Responsibilities 

The Elder Justice Program Director will be an experienced social worker providing inspiring leadership and day-to-day management for four Elder Justice Workers, who in turn provide case assistance, counseling, and support groups. The Program Director will ensure prompt follow-up to intakes, assessments, case assistance, safety plans and case note documentation. The Program Director will identify training opportunities to support staff in areas that include intimate partner violence in later life, trauma-informed care safety planning to reduce risk and housing access for victims and survivors among others.

The Program Director will create and help carry out collaborative and expansive outreach and presentations in diverse communities. They will assign and track the efficacy of these activities and to ensure we are fulfilling our goal to educate the community on elder abuse and enroll prospective clients for support. And they will provide contract oversight and compliance with NYC Department for the Aging’s Elder Justice program standards. 

Qualifications 

  • Social worker with 2 – 3 years of direct supervisory experience of social workers and case managers providing case management, case assistance, and/or counseling and support group services.
  • SIFI certification a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Salary: $65,000 – $73,000
