Our after-school programs provide fun and challenging enrichment activities for your children. We provide after-school programs at P.S. 150 and P.S. 199 in Sunnyside for elementary school students (grades K – 5) and programming for K-8 at the Boulevard Family Residence (transitional shelter) in Elmhurst.
These programs offer academic support and enrichment. In addition to receiving help with homework, students develop literacy, math, and science skills as they complete project-based learning activities such as creating their own comic books, writing and directing short films, and building model bridges.
SCS after-school programs promote not only healthy minds but also healthy bodies, offering sports, dance, and martial arts classes. Students learn important concepts related to nutrition as they practice preparing healthy meals. They participate in community service projects that promote the development of leadership and teamwork skills.
These programs enable working parents to ensure that their children spend after-school hours in a safe and supervised environment.
The after-school programs run until 6 p.m. on school days. Summer Camp Programs are also available.
Sunnyside Community Services’ After-School Programs are funded by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development and the New York State Education Department.
