On February 12, nearly 50 senior citizens in Queens joined us for a virtual Valentine’s Day event. The free event included a number of fun activities and games, including a Valentine’s Day trivia game, Name That Tune, singing, and dancing. Some lucky seniors won raffle prizes such as cosmetics, lotions, scented candles and gift envelopes. Prizes were sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Sunnyside, led by the club’s president, Howard Brickman. This is just one of the many events, educational programs, and fitness classes for seniors that we hold throughout the year. Click here to learn more about our senior programs.

Last summer, Sunnyside Community Services received a $10,000 grant from Con Edison for general operating support. The funds were used to help further our mission to enrich lives and strengthen communities.
“We are so grateful to Con Edison for their support,” said Judy Zangwill, Executive Director of Sunnyside Community Services. “During the Covid-19 pandemic, the need in our community has never been greater. Thanks, in part, to the generosity of Con Edison, we were able to continue the core programs and services that our neighbors depend on.”
